Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress also known as a producer, director and actress. Her work has been recognized for movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her film Piano was awarded an Oscar. At a young age her acclaimed actress started acting on stage in various Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. From the time she was a child, she has been passionate about acting. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade pupil in a school performance. When she was in the fifth grade following a bout of mumps, she lost hearing in the left ear. She did not let that stop her. In her teens She studied acting before moving into New York City. Hunter made her Broadway debut following a chance conversation and Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land movie roles. The role of a supporting actress was secured for Swing Shift. For the past 30 years she's appeared in numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actor and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
