Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known by her highly commendable performances in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. She has won many awards for her performance and has even won an Oscar. Early on, the accomplished actress began performing on stage in a number of Broadway or Off-Broadway productions. Since her school days she played Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. The actress was deaf in one ear following a bout of the mumps virus, however she did not allow this handicap to hinder her determination to become an actress. The college she attended was drama, and then moved between Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her dream. Hunter was stuck in the elevator of the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They worked together to write Broadway Crimes of the Heart that marked the debut of Hunter on Broadway. The first time she appeared in a film was after she relocated from Los Angeles. Holly Hunter has been in several movies, television shows and films over the course of her 30-year career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
